South Lake Tahoe forecast: Hazy start and hot finish to the week

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The first week of September will be a warm one at Lake Tahoe. August wraps up with widespread haze from the fires north of the lake and a slightly "cooler" day. Things will be clearing out Tuesday and an unusually warm air mass takes hold the end of the week and through the weekend with temperatures likely to near record highs. Overall, the forecast remains dry, but there are low-end chances for isolated thunderstorms over the High Sierra next weekend, especially over favored terrain in Alpine and Mono counties according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno.
The NWS Reno forecast:
Monday - Widespread haze before 11am. Sunny, with a high near 83. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the morning.
Monday Night - Clear, with a low around 43. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 82. East wind around 5 mph.
Tuesday Night - Clear, with a low around 42. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 85. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph.
Wednesday Night - Clear, with a low around 45.
Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 88.
Thursday Night - Clear, with a low around 46.
Friday - Sunny, with a high near 88.
Friday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 46.
Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 89.
Saturday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 48.
Sunday - Sunny, with a high near 89.
