Tahoe Arts Project cancels two biggest fundraisers - starting donation drive

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Dancing With the Tahoe Stars for 2021 has been canceled and Music on the Beach 2020 was canceled, both of which are the Tahoe Arts Project's biggest fundraisers of the year.

During these uncertain times the only thing certain is that South Lake Tahoe area nonprofits need help from the community more than ever.

Tahoe Arts Project (TAP) normally provides in-person cultural music and entertainment programs to all local students. This year, their 34th year of serving the community, they will be moving performances online. They have already committed funding for scholarships, Sugarloaf Fine Arts Camp scholarships, sponsorship of school theater and arts programs.

In order to continue serving the community, TAP is holding a donation and membership drive. This year a donor will match all donations to TAP up to $16,000.

TAP provides the only exposure to live, multicultural performing arts for many of the youth of the community. And once the pandemic is over, TAP will be LIVE again.

Highlights of the past year:

Bridey Heidel and Heather Dominguez win the mirror ball trophy during Dancing With the Tahoe Stars. Jeff DeFranco and Robyn Rasmussen raised the most money.

Winner of the 2019 Tahoe Chamber Blue Ribbon Tallac Achievement Award

Azul Latin Kitchen selected TAP as the nonprofit partner.

Winner of 2019 Best of Tahoe "Best Charity Event."
