Un-summerlike temperatures in store for South Lake Tahoe

Did someone say "snow?" No, but there will be temperatures at freezing overnight over the Labor Day Weekend.

There will be impacts for gardeners, campers, outdoor pets, and burners on Saturday and Sunday with the coldest Sierra valleys seeing upper-20s as a low, with western Nevada valleys in the mid-30s.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno, expect breezy conditions on Friday with wind gusts of 35 to 45 mph in the eastern Sierra and northwest Nevada. Winds will create hazardous boating conditions, dangerous crosswinds for high profile vehicles, areas of blowing dust downwind of the Carson/Humboldt Sinks and Black Rock/Smoke Creek Deserts, and turbulence for aviation. In addition, conditions will be dry south of a Portola-Lovelock line, which combined with the gusty winds, increases fire danger.
