Tahoe Economic Summit to focus on improving the local economy

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Join community leaders from around the lake and be a part of the solution to improving the regional economy during the Tahoe Prosperity Center's 2018 Tahoe Economic Summit on October 19 at the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This year's theme is "Transforming Tahoe."

There will be many candidates for upcoming local and regional elected positions attending and the day long Summit provides opportunities for attendees to network and share ideas about how to Transform Tahoe. Lake Tahoe may be made up of many communities, but there is just one lake and one regional economy, so what affects some of us, affects all of us.

The Summit will deliver:

-Information on regional and national economic issues that impact the local economy.
-Expert speakers on topics ranging from Housing, Innovative Economy, and Workforce.
-Discussion around Tahoe's individual communities' strategies to address these issues.
-Learning through sharing adaptation approaches and successes.

Speakers include Christopher Thornberg who founded Beacon Economics LLC in 2006, George Ruther, AICP, Director of Housing in Vail, Colorado and Dr. Alan Walker, President of Sierra Nevada College.

Government leaders, local residents, business owners, real estate professionals, start-up companies, developers, investors and entrepreneurs will all be taking part in the Summit.
