Tahoe Chamber announces Blue RIbbon Award nominees

Close to 70 nominees will be celebrated at the 12th annual Blue Ribbon Awards on Thursday, Nov. 14 at Harrah’s Lake Tahoe Hotel and Casino. Join the Tahoe Chamber in celebrating the businesses and individuals that make the South Shore a great community to live, work and play. Admission to this event is $65 for Tahoe Chamber members and $85 for non-members. Tickets include champagne, wine and full 3-course dinner prepared by Harrah’s executive culinary team. Table sponsorships are also available for purchase.

The Blue Ribbon Awards were created in 2007 by the Tahoe Chamber to honor excellence in business on the South Shore. This awards program recognizes businesses, organizations, and individuals for achievements, community contributions, and milestones. It is one of the largest business awards programs on the South Shore bringing together over 250 local business leaders, entrepreneurs, organizations, and government officials. Each nomination is carefully considered by the Blue Ribbon Awards Committee and after weighting each nomination against the award criteria; six award winners are chosen to receive one of the following honors; Experience Award, Customer Service Award, Public Agency Service Award, Entrepreneur Award, Tourism Award, Geotourism Award.

The newest award category, The Tallac Achievement Award, will be awarded by popular vote to an exemplary business, recreation, or infrastructure project that revitalizes or enhances the economy and community of the South Shore. The three nominees for the award are the Tahoe Arts Project, the Upper Truckee River Restoration Project, and the City of South Lake Tahoe’s Sierra Boulevard Complete Street Project.
