Homebrew for the Homeless to raise funds for Tahoe Warming Room

The Tahoe Homeless Coalition will be the recipient of funds raised at "Homebrew for the Homeless," and event for the whole family on Saturday, September 26.

There will be live music, a chili cook-off, horseback rides, games, bounce house, poker run and a Homebrew Beer Competition.

The Leigh Wayne Miller DDRC ranch in Minden will be the scene for a day of fun and fundraising starting at 1 p.m. The horse ranch is located at 1625 Chowbuck Street.

Purchase tickets here. Pre-sale tickets are $10 for general entry which includes all activities and live music. Food and non-alcoholic beverages provided. Tickets will be $15 on the day of the event. Kids under 2 are free.

Poker run ticket is $25 (plus the general entry). MUST BE 21 to register for this event. If you taste any of the beer provided, you will receive cards from each home brewer for a hand of poker -- best hand of the day wins a prize! Tickets for the tasting will be $40 (including general entry) the day of the event.

HORSEBACK RIDES 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
CHILI TASTING 4 p.m to 6 p.m.
BEER TASTING 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.
WINNERS ANNOUNCED at 7 p.m.

There will also be a raffle with big prizes.

All proceeds for this event will be used to support the Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless and their new project, the South Lake Tahoe Warm Room. This project will provide overnight refuge from the elements in a safe and warm environment for approximately twenty adult men and women who are experiencing homelessness. The Warm Room is committed to decreasing local homelessness by providing temporary shelter and resource referrals to those in need during the season when they need it most.
