Two victims and two suspects in Stateline stabbing

STATELINE, Nev. - One man was arrested and a manhunt ensued for another after two victims were stabbed at Stateline late Friday, September 18. Deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) responded to a report of a stabbing outside of Harrah's Tahoe at 10:56 p.m. Once at the scene they were flagged down by bystanders who saw two suspects run through the casino's parking lot. Deputies and South Lake Tahoe police officers created a perimeter around the area including the alley at MontBleu, Lake Parkway and the forested areas behind the casino including Van Sickle Bi-State Park.

At the same time, a deputy located one man with stab wounds near Harrah's US50 valet entrance. He saw the victim sitting on the ground covered in blood, surrounded by a group of people. The victim was awake but appeared to be loosing consciousness according to the deputy's report. Due to a delay in medics locating him and the victim, the deputy loaded the stabbing victim into his car and left to seek medical attention. As they left, a second victim was spotted walking with a knife wound to his arm. The deputy loaded that victim into his car as well.

He was leaving for Barton Hospital when medics arrived at MontBleu so the deputy met them there and the two victims were transported via ambulance. At this time the condition of the two men is unknown.

During witness interviews a third victim came forward with unknown injuries.

In the meantime, descriptions of the two suspects were sent to deputies and investigators. Both men were described as Hispanic. One wearing all black and the second man described as heavy set, bald, wearing a white shirt, black pants and white shoes.

The DCSO Dispatch learned the second suspect could possibly be inside the Tahoe Vapory between Harrah's and MontBleu. One deputy spotted the suspect with what appeared to be blood on the front of his shirt along with a black shoe print inside the shop. After investigators interviewed the suspect, Israel Medina, he was arrested and transported to the jail.

The 29-year-old Medina was booked but has since posted bail and released.

The second suspect was never located. During the search a hat possibly belonging to one of the suspects was found.
