Emily Lauren Torney was granted her angel wings on September 20, 2017. She was born July 27, 1984 in South Lake Tahoe, CA to Phill and Sue Torney. She graduated from South Tahoe High School in 2002.

She loved the mountains and enjoyed skiing, snowboarding, water sports, and hiking. Growing up, she was involved in most sports, but loved gymnastics and dance. Her smile and infectious laugh could light up an entire room and she left a memorable impression on everyone she met.

She graduated from nursing school in 2009 and spent most of her career at Mercy Hospital in Folsom. She loved taking care of her patients, especially the elderly. She had a very sweet soul and a kind heart. She was always happy helping her friends and everyone around her.

Her life was fun and full, but ended too soon. We will miss her so much. Rest in Peace, Ems. We love you.

Emily is survived by her loving parents, Phill and Sue Torney from Woodfords, CA. Her nieces Bella and Jade. Her dog Roscoe and many cousins, family members, and friends.

A memorial service will be held October 28, 2017 at 2p at Lake Tahoe Golf Course, 2500 Emerald Bay Rd., South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150
