Krista Kline Carson ~ 1971 - 2019

Krista Kline Carson passed away peacefully on July 9, 2019 surrounded by family and friends after a 3½ year battle with cancer. Always positive, always upbeat she would constantly describe her life as AWSOME! She was a positive force for everyone who knew her.

She is survived by her husband Jesse Kalin (Philip) Carson, daughter Trella Ruth Carson, parents Don and Gwen Kline, brother and sister-in-law Scott and Jen Kline, step-daughter Madison Merz, step-son Travis Steidle and uncles, cousins and other relatives too numerous to mention.

She was born on February 3, 1971 in Orange, California and moved with her family to South Lake Tahoe in 1975. Krista was a Tahoe local, graduating from South Tahoe High School in 1989. She then went on to UC Santa Barbara, graduating in 1993 with a Bachelors Degree in Spanish after spending her Junior year in Madrid. She moved to Texas and worked for a number of years and then got her Masters Degree in Psychology from the University of Houston in 2007. She became a licensed Psychotherapist in Texas and worked with The Women’s Home there and later opened her own practice.

Her love for Tahoe brought her home in 2009. She then set up her own consulting practice and began working for Barton Hospital as part of its community outreach to support healthy lifestyles. During this time she met the love of her life, Jesse. They were married in 2012 and their daughter Trella was born the next year.
Krista loved everyone who knew her and wanted the best for all of them. She had an amazing ability to connect with people and share her joy for life. She was an avid cyclist, completing the Death Ride in 2003, and she enjoyed running, hiking, skiing, and snowboarding as well. She could often be found at The Beacon enjoying a Rumrunner, fried calamari and listening to her favorite entertainer, her husband Jesse. We will miss her positive attitude, her smile and her love.

Thank you to all of her family and friends, especially her “Angels” who were so supportive in the last months, weeks and days of her life. She could not have been more loved, and she knew it. There will be a Celebration of Life for Krista on August 18th at Lake Tahoe Golf Course, 2500 Emerald Bay Rd, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Come share the love, all are welcome (and wear something bright)!

Editor's Note: It isn't often I comment on obituaries but I wanted readers to know more about Krista and the life she shared with everyone she met. I sat down with her shortly after her December 2015 diagnosis of brain cancer and you can read about that meeting full of tears, hugs and smailes here - http://southtahoenow.com/story/01/15/2016/south-lake-tahoe-woman-facing-brain-cancer-friends-family-...).
