Over last 20 years, Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe donates over $1M

Through generous contributions made to the Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe (SISLT) club during their annual wine tasting events, the club has been able to give back to the local community over $1,040,822 in scholarships, awards and grants.

On Friday, November 9, 2018 at MontBleu Resort from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., the club will host their 48th annual Evening of Food, Wine and Beer Tasting, a popular fun-filled event that features local restaurants and breweries and over 25 award-winning wineries. Those in attendance will be able to choose from those participants and vote for the "Best of Tahoe 2018."

Tickets are $75 per person.

There will also be a raffle (tickets $10 each or 5 for $40), a cork raffle and a big silent auction with everything from cruiser bikes to shows, experiences and trips.

For tickets and a full list of participating restaurants and wineries, visit their website at https://www.sislt.org/48th-wine-tasting/.

The proceeds from this event support the club's allocations to other non-profits in the community and scholarship awards at both the high school and college level. SISLT has funded approximately 40 recipients during the annual allocation program over the years with the largest donations given to Live Violence Free, Tahoe Youth and Family Services, Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe, St. Theresa Bread and Broth and the Lake Tahoe Unified School District.

"Your continued support will improve the lives of many women and children in our local community," said the club, which is the goal and mission of Soroptimist International.
