Lake Tahoe area ski resorts holding job fairs; Teens can apply

Heavenly Mountain Resort, Northstar California Resort and Kirkwood Mountain Resort will all be having job fairs at the beginning of November, and new this year, 15- and 16-year-old teens can now be employed.

They are accepting applications for the upcoming 2015-16 winter season as well as having the job fairs.

"The resorts are in search of brave, passionate, ambitious employees to fill a variety of full-time and part-time positions at any of the only three resorts in departments including food and beverage, mountain operations, retail, rentals, ticket and pass sales, and more," according to Vail Resort's press release.

They will also hire teens for jobs such as cashiers, Ski and Snowboard School teachers’ assistants, guest services representatives, parking attendants, cleaning attendants, ticket sales, scanning.

Vail Resorts has recently moved to increase the minimum wage to $10 per hour across all resorts and their Lake Tahoe area resorts are proud to have historically remained open for the entirety of the ski season, without having to cut full-time employee hours.

Their press release said: "Reliability of work hours is offered thanks to Heavenly and Northstar’s combined snowmaking systems – the most sophisticated of any across the west coast – as well as Kirkwood’s highly acclaimed, natural snow depths. Between both manmade and natural snowfall the Best of Tahoe resorts proudly open on time and remain open, offering the best snow surfaces around Lake Tahoe from pre-Christmas skiing, well into the days of spring corn skiing in April."
