Missoula Children’s Theatre auditions for The Tortoise Versus the Hare

The Tahoe Arts Project is bringing back the Missoula Children's Theater with Tortoise Versus the Hare Novermber 4-9. There will be free auditions for all children in grades K-12 (must be 5-year-old and in Kindergarten) on November 4.

If the performer is selected to be in the play there is $50 charge per child.

Auditions held on November 4 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Tahoe Valley Elementary School Multi-Purpose Room. There are roles for approximately 60 children. Among the roles to be cast are Thespian Troupe, WMCT TV Crew, WMCT Stage Hand, Reptiles,

Mammals, Curly’s Posse and Curly Hare Fan Club. Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week.

Children auditioning should arrive by the scheduled start time and plan to stay for the entire two-hour session. No advance preparation is necessary. The first rehearsal (depending on role) begins approximately 30 minutes after the auditions.

Rehearsals will be conducted Tuesday-Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Tahoe Valley Elementary School. Although not all cast members will be needed at every
session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals for their role. A detailed rehearsal schedule is distributed at the conclusion of the auditions. Cast members scheduled for the FULL 4 1/2 hours in one day will be asked to bring a sack dinner or snack.

The performances will be held on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Tahoe Valley Elementary at 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. The cast will be called for the dress rehearsal on Saturday (11:00 tentatively). It is very important that children are dropped off and picked up on time during rehearsals, as there will be no supervision before 4:00 p.m. and after 8:30 p.m.

Parents are welcome to stay and watch during rehearsals.
