Missoula Children’s Theatre auditions coming soon for Robin Hood

Tahoe Arts Project has brought Missoula Children's Theater back to South Lake Tahoe November 5-10, 2018. This season's performance is Robin Hood.

All children age five and above in grades K-12 are invited to the tryouts. No advance preparation is needed.

Auditions for Robin Hood will be held on Monday, Nov. 5 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Tahoe Valley Elementary School's Multi-Purpose Room. There are roles for approximately 60 children in K-12th grade.

Among the roles to be cast are Robin Hood, Maid Marion, Marion’s Maid, Prince John, the Sheriff of Nottingham, the Foresters, the Aristocrats, the Merry Band, the Guards, the Horsemen and the Skunks. Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week.

There is no charge to audition and if cast, a $50 per child fee will be charged to participate in this weeklong theater program (a limited number of scholarships are available. Contact Peggy Blowney at 530 542-3632).

Not all children will be cast in the play.

Children auditioning should arrive by the scheduled start time and plan to stay for the entire two-hour session. The first rehearsal (depending on role) begins approximately 30 minutes after the auditions. Rehearsals will be conducted Tuesday-Friday from 4:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m. at Tahoe Valley Elementary School. Although not all cast members will be needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals for their role. A detailed rehearsal schedule is distributed at the conclusion of the auditions. Cast members scheduled for the full 4 1/2 hours in one day will
be asked to bring a sack dinner or snack.

The performances will be held on Saturday, Nov. 10 at Tahoe Valley Elementary at 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children. The cast will be called for dress rehearsal on Saturday (11:00 tentatively). It is very important that children are dropped off and picked upon time during rehearsals, as there will be no supervision before 4:00 p.m. and after 8:30 p.m. (Of course parents are welcome to stay and watch.)

Youth may not audition without parent's permission.
