Winter storm possible for Lake Tahoe by end of week

A Winter Storm is forecast to move into northern California and northern Nevada by Friday with snow impacting travel over the Sierra Saturday and Sunday. Windy conditions and periods of rain and snow are possible for western Nevada.

* What can we expect in the Sierra? Gusty winds, rain and snow
starting Friday afternoon with heavy snow possible Saturday and

Sunday. Travel could be difficult at times.

* How about western Nevada? Gusty winds Friday into Saturday with
some light rain possible. Best chance for rain is Saturday into
Sunday. Snow levels may fall below 5500 feet next weekend, with
accumulating snow possible.

Today - Sunny, with a high near 70. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon.

Tonight - Mostly clear, with a low around 29. Southwest wind around 5 mph.

Monday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 64. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming northwest in the morning.

Monday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 27. East wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 60. East wind around 5 mph.

Tuesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 29.

Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 61.

Wednesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 29.

Thursday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 57.

Thursday Night - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29.

Friday - A slight chance of rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 54.
