Stabbing at Halloween party in South Lake Tahoe

Halloween night was a busy one for the South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD). Just as they were handling the arrest of seven people that were found with bandanas over their faces and guns and drugs in their car, officers were called to the scene of a stabbing.

While attending a party at a Silverwood Avenue vacation rental, 21-year-old Josh Boyer of South Lake Tahoe was stabbed multiple times during a fight with several other party attendees.

The victim was able to drive away, but at least two vehicles from the party followed him. According to the SLTPD, as Boyer attempted to escape, he intentionally rammed his vehicle into one of the pursuing vehicles. The victim made his way to Lakeview Avenue where he abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot until collapsing.

Officers arrived quickly in response to calls of a reckless, possible DUI driver, who had crashed into at least one other vehicle. The investigation led back to the vacation home on Silverwood Avenue. The victim was transported to Barton Memorial Hospital, where he is expected to survive. The suspects in this attack and stabbing have not yet been identified. Several teenagers were at the party but it is unknown at this time if they were involved in the fight.

The investigation is active. SLTPD is soliciting the assistance of our public for information related to any of the investigations noted here. SLTPD can be reached at 530-542-6100 or Lake Tahoe Secret Witness at 530-541-6800.
