Young Frankenstein heads into final weekend at South Tahoe High

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - It's been 44 years since Gene Wilder brought the character of Dr. Frankenstein to the Mel Brooks comedy Young Frankenstein, along with Peter Boyle as the monster and Marty Feldman as Igor.

Now Young Frankenstein returns to the South Tahoe stage for a six-day run in their TADA Theater. Opening night was a sellout with two more days of full crowds, and they continue the production November 9-11.

As the curtains open, villagers in Transylvania are relieved when they are told of the death of Victor Von Frankenstein, the infamous mad scientist who lives in his castle in town. Switch back to an American medical school where his grandson, Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, is a lecturing physician when he learns of Victor's death and that he inherited the castle and his presence is requested immediately.

Talented South Tahoe High students sing and dance their way through Fredericks journey and experiment in grandpa's lab along with a comedic script and a live orchestra.
