Two more report illness from South Lake Tahoe food tampering

A 45-year-old man is behind bars for allegedly tampering with food at the Raley's Hot Wok and the Baja Fresh in South Lake Tahoe, and the investigation is continuing into what substance the suspect, Harry Dally, put on the food over a two-week period.

On Saturday, November 19, 2016, at Baja Fresh in the Village Center at Stateline, a 12-year-old South Lake Tahoe boy was hospitalized after using the self-serve salsa and hot sauce bar at the restaurant. He was treated and released, but since the story broke two other incidents from that same day at Baja Fresh have surfaced.

A female visitor at the restaurant and returned home to San Diego where she was hospitalized with symptoms similar to food poisoning. A South Lake Tahoe man became ill as well, but didn't seek medical treatment.

There is no word back yet from the health department on what the substance was that sickened the three known victims.

Dally remains jailed at the El Dorado County Jail on a felony charge of willfully poisoning food, which comes with a $100,000 bail.

The South Lake Tahoe Police Department is searching through hours of film obtained from Baja Fresh in an attempt to see if it was Dally who placed the substance on food there, as well as at Raley's.
