Special City Council meeting Monday to certify election; honor Collin and Laine

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The results from the November 3, 2020 election were certified by the El Dorado County Registrar of Voters Bill O'Neil on Wednesday and the City of South Lake Tahoe will certify the results of local items during a special meeting on Monday, November 30 at 9:00 a.m.

The one-cent per dollar sales tax Measure S passed by a vote of 60.04 percent to 34.17 percent. Cristi Creegan had 15.69 percent of the vote and John Friedrich 14.05 percent. Both will be moving onto the City Council after being sworn in December 1.

Outgoing Councilmembers Jason Collin and Brooke Laine will be recognized for for their service to the City of South Lake Tahoe during the special meeting. Collin is the current mayor and Laine has served in that position previously. Both chose not to run for reelection.

The meeting will be held remotely. These are the only two items on the agenda and the next regular meeting will be the following day, December 1.
