Quick moving cold front bringing wind and snow this weekend to Lake Tahoe

A fast moving and strong cold front will move into the region Saturday into Sunday, bringing wind, some snow, and much colder temperatures. A wind advisory is in place for Saturday into Sunday, and light snow possible from Saturday night to Sunday.

High pressure will then build in over the region for all of next week, with daytime temperatures mild and overnight lows remaining well below freezing.

Tonight - Partly cloudy, with a low around 29. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday - A 30 percent chance of rain after 4pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 49. Breezy, with a southwest wind 10 to 15 mph increasing to 15 to 20 mph in the afternoon. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph.

Saturday Night - A chance of rain and snow before 10pm, then a chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 26. Breezy, with a southwest wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Sunday - A 50 percent chance of snow. Partly sunny, with a high near 35. West wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Sunday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 19. Northwest wind around 5 mph becoming northeast in the evening.

Monday - Sunny, with a high near 36.

Monday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 18.

Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 41.

Tuesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 18.
