Man arrested on felony DUI charges after crashing into two cars and light pole

A Fallbrook, California man was arrested in South Lake Tahoe Saturday after allegedly driving at a high rate of speed through Stateline while intoxicated before hitting two cars and a light pole.

Ryan Land, 33, started driving a SUV in Gardnerville, Nevada, and once in the Stateline area was driving at approximately 60-mph (in a 25-mph zone). According to South Lake Tahoe Police Sgt. Travis Cabral, Land drove his vehicle into eastbound traffic, striking two vehicles before swerving back into the westbound lane and crashing into the light at the corner of Stateline Avenue and Highway 50 in front of McP's restaurant.

Emergency personnel From South Lake Tahoe Police and Fire Rescue were called to the scene at 2:29 p.m. Paramedics were also called as the front seat passenger in Land's vehicle suffered minor injuries.

Land was arrested on charges of Felony DUI Causing Bodily Injury and Hit and Run, and booked into the El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe. His bail was set at $75,000 and he is no longer in the jail.

It is unknown at this time what route Land and his passenger took to Lake Tahoe and if speed was involved in other areas prior to the South Shore.

The crash is still under investigation. The South Lake Tahoe Police Department will conduct the DUI charges and the Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating the collision portions.
