Community invited to South Lake Tahoe conference on climate change

Television meteorologists will gather on the south shore once again during Operation Sierra Storm.
Dr. James Hansen, former Director of the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies, and Adjunct Professor at Columbia University, will be the keynote speaker at a January 8 session that is open to the public.
Hansen was designated in 2006 by Time Magazine as one of the world's 100 most influential people. He will be joined during the morning's session by Bernice Notenboom, climate journalist, science writer, speaker, and the first woman to reach the North, South, and Cold Pole (in Siberia).
The Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority is inviting the Tahoe community to participate on Thursday, January 8, from 7:45 a.m. - 8:45 a.m. at Harveys Caberet. There is a 15 minute break and then the presentation resumes from 9-10 a.m. There will be a question and answer period to follow. RVSP encouraged, email results@weidingerpr.com.
