Reno Tahoe Airport holding workshops about their role in the local economy

Event Date:
January 6, 2016 - 9:30am

Airports around the country have been impacted by changes in the airline industry, and the Reno Tahoe International Airport is no exception.

Since the entire region an airport services benefits from increased flights and passengers, airport and tourism officials are reaching out to local communities in a series of "Airport 101."

Growing and maintaining air service to the Reno-Tahoe region are key priorities for the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. Approximately 40% of visitors to the region arrive by air and visitor profiles show that they spend more and stay longer than their driving counterparts.

During the sessions, participants can learn about the following subjects, and more:

The ins and outs of air service development - How does a new flight become a reality?
The changing airline industry
How RNO is working with the local community to compete for air service
Opportunities to work with the airport to overcome common challenges

There will be three workshops, one on the south shore, one in Reno and one at the north shore.
