Tahoe Arts Project holds annual Bert's Spaghetti Night

Tahoe Arts Project's annual Bert's Spaghetti Night will be held on Wednesday, May 8 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Enjoy his famous sauce (both meat and no-meat are available) on spaghetti, garlic bread and Caesar salad with soda, coffee and bake sale items and wine also available.

The cost is $10 per person and all proceeds go to Tahoe Arts Project to assist with their bringing the arts to local schools. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time at Bert's Cafe or Tahoe Arts Project, or call the nonprofit at 530.542.3632. A limited number of tickets will be available at the door.

Lake Valley Fire Protection District hosting annual Easter Egg Hunt

MEYERS, Calif. - The Lake Valley Firefighters Foundation is once again sponsoring their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Sunday, April 21 at Tahoe Paradise Park. Over 10,000 eggs will be hidden for kids to find, including the Golden Egg containing a special prize.

The day's activities will include a visit by the Easter Bunny and the historic fire truck. Bring a camera for these photo opportunities. There will be a bake sale, hot cocoa, and coffee.

Arrive at 9:30 a.m. to prepare for the 10:00 a.m. hunt. Parking is limited.

Dodgeball Tournament to raise funds for family of DCSO Investigator

To help one of their own, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) and community members are holding a Dodgeball Tournament fundraiser on September 10 at Sierra Lutheran High School at 1:00 p.m.

DCSO Investigator Nate Almeida and his wife Jen learned their son Trent had B-Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia in April of this year. Last week, the family received good new when bone marrow test results show no leukemia. Trent is now undergoing a 100-day cycle of chemotherapy and undergoing the next phase of treatment to keep those negative test results.

Tahoe Arts Project Spaghetti Night at Bert's

Tahoe Arts Project is inviting the community to attend their Bert's Spaghetti Night on May 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The cost is just $10 per person and includes spaghetti, Caesar salad, garlic bread, soda and coffee. There will also be a bake sale and wine available for a donation.

Tickets are available for purchase at Session's Salon at 3320 Sandy Way in South Lake Tahoe, at Bert's Cafe prior to the event (1146 Emerald Bay Rd in SLT) or by calling Tahoe Arts Project at 530.542.3632.

There will be a limited number of tickets available at the door.

Aktion Club holds community Bake Sale Saturday

The Aktion Club will be having their annual bake sale at Grocery Outlet on Saturday, August 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Homemade cookies, cakes, brownies and other yummy treats will be sold to support the Aktion Club fundraising activities. The Aktion Club is made up of adults over the age of 18 who have a disability. Through the club they learn leadership and community involvement.

The Aktion Club issponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Tahoe-Sierra.

Holiday buzz starts with Barton's 45th Holiday Faire

Get into the holiday spirit and support community health at the forty-fifth annual Holiday Faire on Sunday, November 8. Community members and visitors of all ages are encouraged to attend this merry event at St. Teresa Grace Hall.

Every year, Barton Auxiliary volunteers and employees from The Attic Thrift Store select their favorite holiday and winter donations to sell at the Holiday Faire. Items available for purchase include holiday decorations, jewelry, antiques and collectibles, purses, gifts, and winter wear.

Tahoe Arts Project 'Music on the Beach' on August 27

Join the community as they support the Tahoe Arts Project on the beach for an evening of music and dancing.

Artists Trey Stone, Niall McGuinness and John Shipley will once again provide the night's entertainment on the shores of the lake behind the Tahoe Lakeshore Lodge & Spa located at 930 Bal Bijou Road.

Watch the sunset over beautiful Lake Tahoe, listen to music with your family and friends while supporting arts in the community.

Bring food, beverages, blankets and low back chairs. There will be a raffle and bake sale too.

Kick off the holiday season at the 44th Annual Holiday Faire. On Sunday, November 9, community members and visitors of all ages are encouraged to attend this merry event.

Barton Auxiliary volunteers and employees from The Attic, Barton’s thrift store, have selected their favorite holiday and winter donations to sell. Treasures available for purchase will include jewelry, crystal, antiques and collectibles, holiday decorations, winter wear, vintage dolls, purses, and other gift items.

Halloween Fun in South Lake Tahoe Starts This Weekend

Halloween is always a celebration in South Lake Tahoe and this year is no different. Even though the actual holiday is on Thursday, October 31, the parties and celebrations start in town this weekend. Here is an overview on all that is happening:

Halloween Dance with the Tahoe Dance Band - at the Senior Center on Friday, October 25. The 17 piece dance band will perform big band music, food, drink, costume prizes. 7:30 - 10 pm. $10.

Moose Lodge holds 2nd Annual Yard Sale, Silent Auction and Bake Sale

The Loyal Order of the Moose 1632 of South Lake Tahoe announces its second annual Yard Sale on Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16, 2013 from 9 am to 5 pm.

Not only will the lawn be full of fabulous yard sale bargains but there will also be a silent auction full of great prizes including San Francisco Giants and 49er tickets and delicious dinners from local restaurants. Members of the Moose Lodge and Women of the Moose will have a table full of scrumptious bake sale items available as well.

The Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation will kick-off the 13th Lake Tahoe Kinder Kup Race Series at Heavenly Mountain Resort beginning Sunday, Jan. 27. Open to all skiers age six and under and snowboarders age eight and under, the Kinder Kup series is designed to introduce young athletes to competition in a friendly environment.

'Stars Night Out' dinner Dec. 14 to support the arts at South Tahoe High

The South Tahoe High School Performing Arts Booster Association will host its 2nd annual special fundraising event ‘Stars Night Out’ on Friday, Dec. 14 at 5 p.m. The fundraiser dinner is $30 per person and will take place at South Tahoe High School.

Participants can purchase their discounted ‘White Christmas’ show ticket for $10 at the theatre where they will be seated in a special section (show ticket not included with dinner fundraiser). Catering by the STHS Culinary Arts and entertainment by the STHS music department.

Registration open for Kinder Kup Race Series to Benefit Heavenly Foundation

The Heavenly Ski and Snowboard Foundation will kick-off the 12th Annual Kinder Kup Race Series at Heavenly Mountain Resort on Sunday, January 22, from 8am to 2pm. Open to all skiers and snowboarders age six and under, the Kinder Kup series is designed to introduce young athletes to competition in a friendly environment. No previous race experience necessary and all abilities are welcome. Entry is $20 and includes a World Cup only competitor lift ticket if needed.
