'Stars Night Out' dinner Dec. 14 to support the arts at South Tahoe High

The South Tahoe High School Performing Arts Booster Association will host its 2nd annual special fundraising event ‘Stars Night Out’ on Friday, Dec. 14 at 5 p.m. The fundraiser dinner is $30 per person and will take place at South Tahoe High School.

Participants can purchase their discounted ‘White Christmas’ show ticket for $10 at the theatre where they will be seated in a special section (show ticket not included with dinner fundraiser). Catering by the STHS Culinary Arts and entertainment by the STHS music department.

After dinner and through show intermission, there will be a silent auction in the Tahoe Arts and Design Academy (TADA) building with student-designed and themed gift baskets such as Bath, Movies, Sweets, Cooking, Music, Spa, Wine & Cheese and more. There will also be a bake sale.

Students will perform the White Christmas production at 7 p.m. full of favorite Irving Berlin tunes such as Blue Skies, I Love a Piano, Happy Holiday, Snow, How Deep Is The Ocean, and the title song, White Christmas. Show credits include: Music & Lyrics by Irving Berlin, book by David Ives and Paul Blake and the show is performed with permission from Rodgers & Hammerstein Theatricals.

‘Stars Night Out’ tickets are on sale at the following locations: LTUSD Education Center, Lake Tahoe Pediatrics, on event night at Tahoe Arts and Design Academy (TADA) and from PABA members.

Event proceeds will go to efforts by PABA, a non-profit organization (Tax ID 26-0052932) created to provide support for the students and staff of the instrumental music, drama, and choral programs at STHS. PABA assists with production costs on musicals, drama plays, and concerts. It provides funds for guest teachers/clinicians and student scholarships, supports trips to professional theatre performances and band competitions and distributes a community newsletter.
