The South Tahoe Public Utility District (STPUD) is organizing a District Board Candidate Forum for Wednesday, October 14, at 6:00 p.m. in the District Board Room.

The Forum is open to the public and is an opportunity for the community to attend and hear statements from each of the seven candidates running for a seat in November.

Each candidate will give an opening statement, answer questions posed by the audience and then provide a closing statement. The Forum is anticipated to last approximately two hours.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Student Senate at Lake Tahoe Community College is hosting a City Council Virtual Candidate Forum on Monday Oct. 5 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. via Zoom.

All are welcome to join.

As of right now, all but two of the candidates have agreed to participate. They’ll share their visions for the community and their thoughts about Measure S.

Full house for eighth and final city council candidate forum

Local public safety employees hosted the eighth and final South Lake Tahoe City Council candidates' forum on October 25 at Lake Tahoe Community College.

It was a full house at the event which was hosted by the South Lake Tahoe Police Officers, the California Nurses and the South Lake Tahoe Firefighters associations and gave everyone a chance to hear from the nine candidates about their views before the November 6 election. Each association gave them two questions a piece, plus a couple asked by audience members during the two-hour long forum.

South Tahoe Public Utility District holding board candidate forum

Learn more about the six candidates looking to represent the community as members of the South Tahoe Public Utility District board of directors during a candidate's forum on Wednesday, October 24 at 6:00 p.m. in the District Board Room.

Chris Cefalu, James Jones and Duane Wallace are all seeking reelection and will be joined by challengers Nick Exline, Louis Pierini and Eric Schafer at the forum.

The South Lake Tahoe Police Officers Association, the California Nurses Association and South Lake Tahoe Firefighters Association will be hosting a Public Safety Forum with the candidates for South Lake Tahoe City Council on Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

This event will be hosted in the Aspen/Board Room of Lake Tahoe Community College and will utilize a standard candidate forum format. All candidates will be provided time for opening and closing statements, each two minutes in length.

Tahoe Chamber hosts community forum for South Lake Tahoe City Council candidates

Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce (Tahoe Chamber) is hosting a candidate forum on October 4 for candidates running for South Lake Tahoe City Council. Three City Council member seats are up for election, which includes those held by incumbents, and candidates, Wendy David, Tom Davis and Austin Sass. All nine candidates are confirmed to attend.

The forum will be held in the Lake Tahoe Community College Board Room from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Sue Novasel, the incumbent is being challenged by former Supervisor Norma Santiago, local businessman Ken Curtzwiler and transportation specialist Jeffrey Spencer.

The primary will be held on June 5, 2018.

Speed dating met politics in South Lake Tahoe candidate forum

If the success of Thursday night's merging of South Lake Tahoe politics with speed dating is any indication, we should see many more forums done in the same format in the future. A much more educated and knowledgeable voter emerged from the evening's event at Lake Tahoe Community College.

Voter registration forms due by October 23 to be eligible to vote November 4

There are less than two weeks left for Californians to register to vote on the November 4 election day. In order to be eligible to vote, one must be 18, a U.S. citizen, are not in prison or on parole for conviction of a felony, or have not been ruled mentally incompetent to vote by the courts.

Seven South Lake Tahoe City Council candidates vying for votes at forum Wednesday

The seven candidates for South Lake Tahoe City Council were at Wednesday nights Candidate Forum at Lake Tahoe Golf Course. The Tahoe Chamber and Tahoe Daily Tribune hosted the evening which had Rabbi Evon Yakar moderating the questions and answers.

About 100 people showed up to listen to panel who were given questions prepared by the chamber's new political committee as well as those asked by the audience. The questions were asked of different candidates so not everyone was asked the same one.

One such event will be an El Dorado County Supervisor Candidate's Forum hosted jointly by the Tahoe Regional Youth Professionals and the Tahoe Chamber. The two groups will present the forum at the California Conservation Corps on May 6 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Representatives of the TahoeChamber Government Affairs Committee and TRYP will moderate the discussion in hopes to illuminate candidates' stances of key business issues.

South Tahoe Public Utility District - Candidate Forum

Employees of STPUD will be sponsoring a candidate forum from 7pm-8:30pm at the District offices, located at 1275 Meadow Crest Drive in South Lake Tahoe.
This year there will be two Board seats up for election. They will serve four-year terms lasting through December 4, 2015.
Elections will be conducted November 8, 2011. ElDorado County Elections Department handles the election process. Questions about the election process should be referred to the Placerville office at (530)621-7480.
