DUI checkpoint in South Lake Tahoe/Meyers area Saturday

There will be a DUI checkpoint in the unincorporated portion of El Dorado County on the South Shore Saturday, August 24 from 8:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be setting up at an undisclosed location.

The Driving Under the Influence (DUI) Sobriety Checkpoint will be staffed by a team of CHP officers which will be controlling traffic, evaluating driver’s sobriety, and hand out literature warning of the dangers of drinking and driving. Driver license checks will be conducted, and appropriate enforcement action will be taken.

DUI checkpoint in South Lake Tahoe Saturday

On Saturday, June 30, 2018, the California Highway Patrol (CHP), South Lake Tahoe Area, will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint in the east area of El Dorado County. The checkpoint will be setting up at approximately 8:00 p.m. and will be operational at 9:00 p.m. The checkpoint will conclude at approximately 2:00 a.m.

It is unknown where it will be set up but could be anywhere from Meyers to the state line. Designate a sober driver if you plan to go out and drink.

DUI Checkpoint somewhere on the South Shore Saturday

Another reminder to not drink and drive in South Lake Tahoe will be on Saturday, July 15 when the the California Highway Patrol (CHP) conducts a sobriety checkpoint.

CHP has said they will be operating the checkpoint between 9:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m. "somewhere in the east area of El Dorado County." This could be Meyers, South Lake Tahoe or Tahoma.

DUI checkpoint in South Lake Tahoe Friday

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be conducting a sobriety checkpoint on Friday night, but they will not be releasing the location until just before it starts at 9:00 p.m.

They will begin setting up at 8:00 p.m. somewhere in the eastern portion of the lake side of El Dorado County and run it until 2:00 p.m.

St. Patrick's Day DUI checkpoint in South Lake Tahoe

With St. Patrick's Day being one of the biggest holidays centered around partying, the South Lake Tahoe Police Department is having a DUI Checkpoint as well as extra patrols on the roads to help lower deaths and injuries.

The checkpoint will be held from 7:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. on St. Patrick's Day, March 17. The location has not been disclosed.

Crackdown on holiday drunk drivers in South Lake Tahoe

If you’re enjoying the holidays with a drink, South Lake Tahoe Police Department has a message for you: Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over. Due to the increase in drunk-driving-related fatalities around the holidays each year, law enforcement agencies across America will be actively searching for and arresting drunk drivers from December 18 to January 3.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be holding a sobriety checkpoint somewhere in the eastern portion of El Dorado County on Friday, August 14 between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m.

A team of CHP officers will be staffing the checkpoint. They will control traffic at the checkpoint to evaluate driver’s sobriety and hand out literature warning of the dangers of drinking and driving. Driver license checks will be conducted and appropriate enforcement action will be taken.

July 4 DUI checkpoint on Spooner Summit nets five arrests

Over 2,000 cars drove through a July 4 sobriety check point in Douglas County on US 50 at Spooner Summit.

There were 22 drivers who were pulled over to a secondary screening during the check point which lasted from 2:30 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Of those, three were arrested for driving under the influence of drugs, one for driving under the influence of alcohol and one person was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
