CHP holding DUI checkpoint in South Lake Tahoe Friday

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) will be holding a sobriety checkpoint somewhere in the eastern portion of El Dorado County on Friday, August 14 between 9 p.m. and 2 a.m.

A team of CHP officers will be staffing the checkpoint. They will control traffic at the checkpoint to evaluate driver’s sobriety and hand out literature warning of the dangers of drinking and driving. Driver license checks will be conducted and appropriate enforcement action will be taken.

If there is inclement weather, the checkpoint will be canceled for safety reasons and the units will be assigned to roving DUI patrol.

The location of the checkpoint will be revealed to the media around 7 p.m. and South Tahoe Now will share that information.
