The band was formed in 1997 by musicians who have performed with acts such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Elvis Presley, Natalie Cole, and Luciano Pavarotti. Members have traveled the world with legendary performers Now the Reno Jazz Orchestra is bringing the spirit of Christmas with their " Home for the Holdays" shows.

November 8, 2019 (All day) Reno Youth Jazz Orchestra Director Vern Scharbrough, will guest conduct the Reno Jazz Orchestra’s November concerts and feature the music of Stan Kenton on November 8 and 9 in Reno, NV.
Kenton was one of the legendary bandleaders like Duke Ellington and Count Basie who elevated big bands from the dance hall to the concert hall each with their own distinctive sound.

The Last Response Memorial Fund invites the public to enjoy an evening of music by Grammy nominee Ty Herndon, Elvis Tribute Artist Clint Ingbretson, Mo'z Motley Blues, Canyon White, Wabuska Yachting Club, and Fate Awaits on August 25 at their inaugural Music Festival for Heroes.
This free event will be in the parking lot of Living the Good Life in Carson City at 1480 N Carson Street from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and the Master of Ceremonies will be KBUL 98.1's JJ Christy.

Robin Holabird’s book about Nevada films Elvis, Marilyn and the Space Aliens was published by UN Press in 2017. Holabird honed her writing skills with a degree in Journalism from Humboldt State University and reporting stints at KOLO, the Sparks Tribune and other media outlets.

Todd Morgan and the Emblems is a young four-piece band, led by singer-songwriter and musician Todd Morgan. The band’s music consists of original pop and rock music, along with covers of 50s and 60s Rock-n-Roll and up to present day pop and rock songs. The band has recorded 3 albums.

Submitted by paula on Mon, 05/15/2017 - 12:28pmOur mother Robin lived her life true to her convictions. She was a strong and resilient woman, who was known for her many stories of Nevada's legends and history. Robin had extensive knowledge of Tahoe gaming and history.
Robin Mattingly made Tahoe her home in the early 1960's, she met and married John Cristando (married from 71/79). Robin started as a cocktail server, then Black Jack dealer. Our mother often recalled meeting many entertainers and stars, including Elvis and NASA astronaut Walter Schirra.
Music and craft beer tasting poolside at 968 Park

Hard Rock Hotel and Casino opens in South Lake Tahoe

Many thought seven months wasn't going to be enough time to turn the old Horizon casino into a fresh and new Hard Rock Hotel & Casino. All doubts were tossed aside Wednesday night as the epic rock and roll branded property opened up to large crowds, full bars and packed table games.

August 2, 2014 - 12:00pm The "Jazz & Beyond: Carson City Music Festival," in collaboration with Carson City, is proud to present five of several bands at the Nevada Sesquicentennial Fair in Fuji Park on Saturday, August 2. "Jazz & Beyond" runs from Aug. 1 to Aug. 17 and features over 50 events, mainly in the downtown Carson City area.
The five "Jazz & Beyond" bands at the Fair on August 2 are Sons of Slide Mountain, RVGS Tantalus, Lynne Colvig Latin Jazz, the Reno Jazz Orchestra with singer Jackie Landrum, and the St. Christopher Project, featuring the music of Tom Waits.

South Shore's Horizon Casino Resort to Close April 1
Submitted by paula on Wed, 03/05/2014 - 8:20pmAn era comes to an end on April 1 when the Horizon Casino Resort on the south shore of Lake Tahoe closes for renovations.
The resort was the one time local showcase of Elvis Presley and Liberace when the casino operated as Del Webb's Sahara Tahoe. In 1990 Del Webb sold the property to Kentucky based Columbia Sussex Corporation for $19 million.
Columbia Sussex owners, the Yung family, are the current operators under the corporate name, LV Casino LLC. Their lease ran out and long time Lake Tahoe and Carson Valley ranchers, the Park family, will take control after March 31.
