Celebrate National Public Lands Day at Nevada Beach

The public is invited to celebrate National Public Lands Day (NPLD) with the USDA Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit (LTBMU) and our partners at Nevada Beach Pavilion on Saturday, September 22, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until noon. The LTBMU and Tahoe Recreation will host this free community event, which provides an opportunity for the public to connect and engage with volunteers and organizations to learn how to best enjoy and protect our public lands.

Outdoor movies in South Lake Tahoe on weekends in December

Ever think of watching movies outside during the winter in Lake Tahoe? Now is your opportunity to gather around the fire pits at The Crossing in South Lake Tahoe and watch holiday movies, ski and snowboard movie premieres, participate in fundraisers and have fun with raffle prizes, all part of the new Sierra Cinemas.

Starting Sunday, December 3, Sierra-at-Tahoe, FNCTN and Lake Tahoe AleworX start December off right with "The Polar Express." Its a free, community event in the courtyard at Lake Tahoe AleworX.

Tahoe Regional Young Professionals to host town hall meeting

The inaugural Tahoe Town Hall will be hosted by the Tahoe Regional Young Professionals (TRYP) on Wednesday, April 20 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Lake Tahoe Community College Student Center.

This free community event will cover local ordinances that impact residents and TRYP invites all to attend to learn the facts and openly answer questions concerning issues in our community and its progress.

Everyone will have an opportunity to ask questions, and they can even be submitted here prior to the event.

Higgs boson and gravity to be topic at LTCC physics talk

“Recent Discoveries on the Frontiers of Science: Higgs boson & Gravitational Waves” is the topic at the next free community event at Lake Tahoe Community College on Tuesday, February 16 at 6:00 p.m.

While the topic may seem heavy, Dr. James Brau will explain the recent discoveries in physics in easy-to-understand terms.

5th annual Sushi Pier Rail Jam to raise money for Boys & Girls Club

Children's Environmental Science Day 2015

The public is invited to the 16th annual Children's Environmental Science Day presented by the UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center on Sunday, August 2 at Commons Beach in Tahoe City. The event will begin at 12:30 p.m. and will continue until 3:30 p.m., with a free Mumbo Gumbo concert at 4:00 p.m.

Children’s Environmental Science Day is a free community event for children ages 6 and up and their families, held on Saturday, August 10, from 1 - 4 p.m. at the Tahoe Science Center in Incline Village, Nev.

The event includes dozens of hands-on science activities designed to create an awareness of the unique ecology of Lake Tahoe and provide an opportunity for young and old alike to learn about environmental and Earth science. The event is hosted by UC Davis scientists, staff, and local agencies and organizations of the Lake Tahoe Basin.

Music on the South Lake Tahoe Library Green

Bring a blanket, a picnic and the family for an hour of beautiful music on the lawn outside the South Lake Tahoe Branch Library. Sponsored by Friends of the Library, this free community event is happening Wednesdays through July from 6 to 7 pm. Artists featured include:

Bijou Bash, free community event

Annual Bijou Bash at Bijou Park, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Event is free and open to the public. Doggie parade, Tahoe Derby Dames demonstration, 5K fun run, face painting, disc golf, skateboard demo, kids fun zone, food and other vendors. Park at Lake Tahoe Community College.
