Young Professionals’ raise more than $3,000 for Tahoe Youth & Family Services (SLIDESHOW)

Winter White was the theme at Tahoe Regional Young Professionals’ (TRYP) inaugural holiday party raising more than $3,000 for Tahoe Youth & Family Services (TYFS) on Saturday, November 19 at Riva Grill.

“I was speechless,” Heather Avila, TYFS Alcohol and Drug Counselor and The Girls Project Coordinator said. “It was an emotional moment for me. I have never seen generosity in such abundance!”

Tahoe Magic fundraiser at Coyote Grill

A chili dinner is set for Dec. 1, at Coyote Grill in the Round Hill Plaza to benefit Tahoe Magic, a South Shore Lake Tahoe organization formed in 1992 that serves families and individuals in the Tahoe community that are in need of temporary financial assistance. The fundraiser runs from 5 to 10 p.m. and costs $1 for a bowl of chili. Twenty percent of the fundraiser will go to Tahoe Magic.

The Brotherhood Motorcycle Club wishes to thank local businesses and community members here in South Lake Tahoe and Stateline for their generous donations for our annual fundraiser, HOGG WILD XVI. Because of our community’s generosity, we were able to provide 50 complete Turkey dinners to families in need this Thanksgiving. The giveaway at Sierra Community Church was a huge success thanks to the following individuals, businesses and community members. Thanks to Christine from Lira’s Market for putting the dinner packages together.

Annual See's Candy Sales for SLT Cancer League

The South Lake Tahoe Cancer League's Annual sale of See's Candies begins this week and continues daily from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Profits from the fundraiser will help local residents undergoing treatment for cancer with transportation, home cleaning and grants.

Festival of Trees & Lights at MontBleu Resort

The Festival of Trees and Lights is occurring from December 3-5 at MontBleu Resort Casino & Spa. The festival is fast becoming the event of the season in South Lake Tahoe! As a fundraiser supporting the good works of Barton Health the event is also a wonderful way for volunteers and attendees alike to give back during the holiday season. This year, we are excited that once again all monies raised will go to support the Barton Community Clinic which provides health services to low-income individuals.

Far West Nordic Auction/Raffle Party -

The 26th annual Far West Nordic Auction/Raffle Party will be held on Saturday, November 5 from 6:00pm-10:00pm at the Olympic Village Lodge in Squaw Valley.
This is Far West Nordic Ski Education Association's largest fundraiser for its Junior Nordic Programs. Admission is $25 for 12 and over and $5 for 11 and under. Raffle tickets will be available at $5 each. Check for updates on our Auction page. Tickets are now available from your favorite Far West Nordic junior or at our website.

South Lake Tahoe Applebee's hosts 'Tip-a-Cop' for Special Olympics

Several law enforcement officers from Northern Nevada and South Lake Tahoe will volunteer their time Thursday by participating in the annual Applebee’s “Tip-A-Cop” fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics Nevada. Officers and deputies will serve during the lunch and dinner-time hours shadowing the restaurant staff as honorary waiters and waitresses. A special envelope will be left at each table for those patrons wishing to donate.

Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe "An Evening of Food & Wine Tasting” Event

Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe presents “An Evening of Food & Wine Tasting” Event on Friday, November 11 from 6:00-9:30pm at Harrah's Tahoe Convention Center.
“An Evening of Food & Wine Tasting” raises money to fund many projects and programs sponsored by SISLT. Over 18 local area restaurants and 30 vintners will be showcased. Guests will again have an opportunity to vote for their favorite winery and restaurant.

Harvesting Our Dreams fundraiser sponsored by Unity at the Lake

Unity at the Lake will be hosting the Harvesting Our Dreams fundraiser Friday, October 28 from 5:30-9:30pm in the Harvey's Garden Room.
The event features dinner, silent auction, live music and much more!
Tickets must be purchased in advance (and will only be available through Oct. 23) and cost $35 per person. Ten percent of proceeds to benefit the Tahoe Women’s Center.

Tahoe Toy Run

The 21st annual Tahoe Toy Run roll through South Lake Tahoe on Saturday, Oct. 1, The South Lake Tahoe event is a major fundraiser for Christmas Cheer, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing food to needy families and Christmas toys to underprivileged children. Motorcycles will start at the Horizon Casino at Stateline beginning at 10 a.m. and parade down Highway 50, led by Santa Claus, to the Lake Tahoe Airport. Entertainment will include raffle prizes, auction, barbecue, and live music featuring the Cash Only band and Deep Fryed Mojo playing from noon to 8 p.m.
