Tahoe author Jennifer Quashnick returns to introduce us to the fourth novel from her Mountaingirl Mysteries series, "Sierra Nevada Burning Revenge", which continues the adventures of Tahoe local Rachel Winters and her two dogs, Bella and Avi. In this adventure, Rachel's life is in danger. After a well-timed visitor interrupts a brutal attack, Rachel and her dogs are forced into hiding.

December 14, 2019 - 12:30pm South Lake Tahoe Friends of the Library will be presenting "An Anthology of Authors" on Saturday, December 14, 2019, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the library.
Stop by to meeting these authors: Gantt Miller, Lyla Dusing, Carol Haase, Karin Holmes, Jennifer Quashnick, Sondra Garner, Pat Crane, Jayme Willison, Mark Klitsie and Lynne Goldsmith.
Books will be available for purchase and signing and there will be raffle prizes.

April 22, 2018 - 11:00am Jennifer Quashnick is the local author of the Mountaingirl Mysteries series, in which Rachel Winters, a Lake Tahoe resident frequently accompanied by her dog Bella, finds herself embroiled in murder, mystery, and romance in the Tahoe Basin and beyond. The series begins with the Sierra Nevada Trail of Murder, where Rachel and Bella discover a murder victim along a local hiking trail. The series continues with Sierra Nevada River of Lies and Sierra Nevada Dangerous Developments.

Jennifer will be at the Lake Tahoe Branch in Zephyr Cove on Wednesday, April 18 at 6:00 p.m. to introduce her Mountaingirl Mysteries series. She will then bring the discussion to the Minden Branch on Wednesday, May 30 at 5:30 p.m.

Produced by Golden Bear Events, the show will run from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. 6th annual Lake Tahoe Home and Garden Show

The sixth annual Lake Tahoe Home and Garden Show will be held April 28-29, 2017 in the South Tahoe Middle School multipurpose room.
Space is being increased to allow more vendors from the region to participate in the only event of its type on the South Shore. A free children's planting area is also being added to the two day show that runs from 4:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m on Friday, and 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m on Saturday.

The 5th annual Lake Tahoe Home and Garden Show will be held April 22 and 23 at the South Lake Tahoe Recreation Complex on Rufus Allen Blvd. The show will begin on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and run until 7:30 p.m. Saturday hours will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission to the show is free, and each attendee will receive a small gift and be entered into a chance to win a door prize.

Lake Tahoe author Jennifer Quashnick will be launching her newest book "Sierra Nevada River of Lies" at Bonafide Books in Meyers on November 7 from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Her newest book is the second one in Quashnick's Mountaingirl series which was started off by "Sierra Nevada Trail of Murder."
A description of the newest story: An offer to help someone in need leaves Rachel Winters and her friends in the killer’s sights as they slowly unravel a multi-layered scheme for profit. Meanwhile, a discovery about Luke Reed’s long-lost family threatens them both.

Hike for the Humane Society

May 16, 2015 - 9:00am The annual Harrah's/Harvey's Hike for the Humane Society has teamed up with the Action Adventure Expo! Join us Saturday, May 16th, in the back parking lot of Harrah's from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. Admission to the event is free, and a low cost lunch will be offered to benefit the Humane Society.
There will be an opportunity to meet Brandon Nelson and Cara Maria Sorobello of "The Challenge" series, and have your picture taken with your pet. You can also join the guided hike, which starts at 9:30, for just $10 for the hike and lunch! Pets are welcome, but they must be on leash at all times.
