Step back into the Roaring 20s at Great Gatsby Festival

Step back in time with a living celebration of the Roaring 20s at the Great Gatsby Festival at the Tallac Historic Site on August 8 and 9, 2015. The Tahoe Heritage Foundation and U.S. Forest Service is hosting this wonderful event from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., both days, free admission for all ages.

Throughout the weekend there will be a variety of activities taking place at the Baldwin, Pope, and Valhalla Estates. Enjoy living history tours, vintage car shows, a silent auction, food and drinks, and so much more! There will be plenty of activities and games to entertain the kiddos, too. Costumes are not mandatory but greatly are encouraged!

On Sunday the Great Gatsby Tea and Fashion Show will take place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a variety of savory tea sandwiches and tasty sweets, along with 1920’s high tea and bootleg champagne. Cherie Oliver will present the fashion show: “Grit & Glamor,” portraying historic characters of the 1930’s from movie stars to working women. Tickets are $65.00 per person. There are only a few tickets left, get yours before they sell out!

The Tallac Historic Site is located approximately 3 miles north of South Lake Tahoe on the lakeside of Highway 89. The entrance is across the street from Fallen Leaf Lake Road.
