Viking Corner: This week at South Tahoe High

The students of South Tahoe High School came back from a two-week holiday vacation with motivation to finish the term and start their new year’s resolutions. Final exams are next week, Winter Formal is coming soon, and winter sports are continuing.

On Campus
Finals are next week on Thursday and Friday, which end the first term of the 2019-2020 year. While students bear down on studying, here are some of their resolutions for 2020:

Senior Nathan Carney wants to listen to a new song every day.

Sophomore Molly Winslow says she’ll “stop giving so much to others, especially when I know I need it for myself.”

Junior Nina Bukowska wants to eat more pickles.

Winter Formal, a themed dance, is taking place February 1 in the Student Union 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. Ticket are $15 and sales begin January 13 at the ASB office.

In Athletics
Girls varsity basketball (2-3) has a home game against Lowry High School (7-6) tonight at 6:00 p.m. in the Blue Gym.

Boys varsity basketball (6-4) plays Lowry (8-4) at 7:30 p.m. in the Blue Gym.

The Nordic Ski team has a race today at the Auburn Ski Club. Girls race at 10:30 a.m. Boys race at 11:00 a.m.

“I’m looking forward to the complimentary snack table after the race and to look fashionable in a blue and gold spandex suit,” said senior skier Melanie Maher. “Also it’s the first race of the season, so I’m interested to see the freshmen boys fight it out and see who’s the fastest.”
