Viking Corner: This Week at South Tahoe High

This week at South Tahoe High School included large amounts of caffeine-based drinks, as students crammed for semester midterms. But after today’s tests, Spring Break begins, giving some of us time to regain lost sleep. In sports, a new team is born.

Spring Break Is Here
With school out for Spring Break next week, here’s what a few STHS students plan to do:

Freshmen Maiella Riva is going to Fiji for the whole week. She is most excited about swimming with sharks and enjoying the warm weather.

Senior Hailey Naccarato is visiting Cabrillo Community College, where she hopes to attend in the fall. She is also traveling Utah Valley University to practice with its volleyball team.

Junior Lauren Ansen is planning to spend her birthday on April 8 with friends. She plans to attend softball practice and hit the ski slopes before they close.

In Athletics
STHS launched its first dive team with Mark Allen taking 3rd place and Peter Anthony taking 5th place at a heat in the Carson Valley Swim Center in Minden. The STHS team joined the league four events into the season.

“I’m most looking forward to learning new tricks and improving my air awareness, which I can translate into skiing,” said Anthony. “I am also looking forward to being part of the first STHS dive team.”
