Viking Corner: This week at South Tahoe High

This week at South Tahoe High School, students started their spring-term classes. Winter Formal is next weekend, and basketball travels to Elko for their next league game.

On Campus
After the three-day weekend, students returned to a new schedule of classes for the last term of the 2019-2020 school year.

“I like the new classes starting because it feels like the first day of school again,” said senior Alex Boyko.

“I like my classes so far,” said sophomore Laura Marler. “This term is definitely going to be easier than my last one.”

Leadership continues to put together the plans and layout for the Winter Formal dance. By using suggestions from students at STHS, the organizers hope for a big gathering on February 1, 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. in the Student Union.

In Athletics
After defeating Sparks High School this week, both the boys and girls basketball teams head to Elko and Spring Creek for games over the weekend. Girls varsity play at 6:00 p.m. and boys play at 7:30 p.m. against Elko on Friday. On Saturday, the girls and boys teams take on Spring Creek at 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m., respectively.
