DUI suspect arrested after rollover crash on US50 at Echo Summit; Westbound traffic delayed an hour

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) has arrested the driver of the Ford truck involved in the single-vehicle rolloever just west of Lake Tahoe Sunday morning. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in the 11:16 a.m. crash.

The highway was backed up for over an hour as the truck and driver were removed from the scene.

12:37 p.m. update: US50 over Echo Summit is now open with no controls. The vehicle has been removed.

12:15 p.m. update: CHP is doing one-way controlled traffic around the truck to help alleviate the backup. At this time the overturned vehicle, a truck, has been put onto its wheels and waiting to be placed on a tow truck.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Expect delays if leaving South Lake Tahoe on US50 Sunday. There is a single-vehicle rollover at the top of Echo Summit blocking the westbound lanes.

The California Highway Patrol (CHP) was notified of the incident at 11:16 a.m.

Eastbound traffic is moving though that can be stopped when emergency crews get the vehicle on its tires and towed away.

At this time CHP is not reporting any injuries.
