Message from Sierra: Happy MLK day, Sierra Fam! Let's keep this quote in mind while we're on the mountain or sitting in traffic today. Skier or Boarder, beginner or expert, we all have one thing in common: we love to be out on the slopes at Sierra, so let's spread that love and remember to be kind to each other while we enjoy the 2" refresher mother nature brought us overnight! That brings our 7 day storm total to an incredible 34 inches and counting, with a current base depth ranging from 58-96 inches. We're finishing off the holiday weekend strong, starting at 8:30 am this morning with 11 lifts and tows, granting access to 46 open trials, 32 groomers, 6 fun parks, and 5 backcountry gates (conditions pending). Highways 50, 88, and 89 are all on chain control, so please be safe driving today and be prepared for changing conditions! NOAA is forecasting snow showers, temps in the mid 30's, and 10-15 mph southwest winds with potential for stronger ridge-top gusts. Let's go spread the love out on the slopes today!

Kirkwood Message on Facebook: It’s going to be a good day @the Wood! 5” – 6” has fallen over the past 12hrs here @Kirkwood Mountain, Mountain team will need to preform ‘snow-safety routes on all lifts straight away. Teams are already assembling for this task and will be working the mountain as safety and as quickly as possible. So, do not expect a 0900 opening! Mountain teams will be working the front-side 8 lift to start out the day, and then working towards the backside for a mid-day opening… Need to mention the rope & boundary policy for those not in the know: Pick up one of our trail maps in the ticket office and please read the boundary / avalanche boundary policies. The rope lines and closed signs are there for your protection and the safety of our ski patrol… Respect the boundary and respect our Patrol and mountain operations team my friends.

All conditions are reported by the individual resorts prior to their daily opening times. For current lift status, follow the links provided for the resort.
