Weather - South Lake Tahoe will have a high of 40 and a low tonight of 29. Today: Snow before 10am, then rain and snow. High near 40. Breezy, with a south wind 10 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 35 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible. Tonight: Rain and snow showers before 10pm. Low around 29. Breezy, with a southwest wind 10 to 20 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Heavenly - Powder/Packed Powder. 5" New Snow in last 24 hours. 100% of their terrain is now open which means 4800 acres, 25 lifts and 97 runs are open. Base depth is 72". Lift status. Snow before 10am, then scattered snow showers between 10am and 4pm. High near 33. Snow. High near 34. Very windy, with a southwest wind 45 to 50 mph, with gusts as high as 70 mph. Message from Heavenly: 5" of new snow fell yesterday during the day. Forecast is calling for 100% chance of snow again today! We are already experiencing strong winds this morning on the mountain, which are expected to persist throughout the day. So please stay tuned, as lift operations are likely to be impacted. Tubing hill opens at 11:00 am at the top of The Gondola, and Mini-Tubing will open at 12:00 pm.

Sierra-at-Tahoe - Powder/Packed Powder. 7" new snow. 100% of the terrain is now open. 9 lifts are open. Six snow parks are open. Groomed conditions on 31 of their open 44 runs. Base depth is 58" to 96". Lift status. Snow. High near 37. Windy, with a south southwest wind 16 to 26 mph increasing to 26 to 36 mph. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph. Message from Sierra: Mother Nature must feel bad for neglecting us last year, because she just keeps on bringing free refills! After our 5 am reading yesterday morning, we received an additional 7" of new snow for a surprise pow day! That brings our 7 day storm total to an incredible 41 inches and counting, with our current base depth over 100" at the top. We're starting the party this morning at 9:00 am with 8 lifts and tows, granting access to 44 open trials, 31 groomers, and 5 backcountry gates (conditions pending). Highway 50 is open while 88 and 89 have some chain control restrictions, so please be safe driving and come prepared for changing conditions. NOAA is forecasting some mixed precipitation with temps in the upper 30's and 20-25 mph south winds with potential for stronger ridge-top gusts. We could see as much as 8" of new snow at the top today, and it just started snowing at the base! Word on the street is that construction on our Halfpipe has begun over in Aspen/Aspen West, so practice sending it in one of our 6 open parks in the meantime and stay tuned to sierraattahoe.com for the opening date!

Kirkwood - Powder/Packed Powder. 3" new snow. 33% of the mountain terrain is open with 750 acres, 7 lifts and 45 runs. 83" base. Lift status. Snow. High near 35. Windy, with a south wind 17 to 27 mph increasing to 28 to 38 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 55 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%.
