An investigation into the sales of drugs surrounding the murder of Dennis Wright, Jr. in South Lake Tahoe last month led the El Dorado County Sheriff SWAT team to Georgetown, Calif., on February 2, 2016 where they arrested 33-year-old Teveraz Lopez on drug charges.
Two separate investigations are currently ongoing surrounding the death of Wright, both a homicide investigation and a narcotics investigation according to EDSO Lt. Jim Byers.
"Lopez was found in possession of a BHO (Butane Hash Oil) lab and other illegal items. EDSO came by this information due to our own murder case at the Beverly Lodge," said South Lake Tahoe Police Lt. Brian Williams.
According to both Williams and Byers, Lopez is associated with the narcotics investigation and is not a suspect in the fatal shooting of Wright.
Lopez is charged with the manufacturing of a controlled substance, being a felon in possession of firearms or narcotics, felon in possession of ammunition, and violation of probation. He was in the El Dorado County Jail as of February 14 on a $871,500 bail hold.
