Douglas County authorities ask for help in locating missing woman

Douglas County Sheriff’s Office investigators are seeking the public’s help in locating a missing 63-year-old woman. Kathy Arlana Hammond was reported as a missing person by a friend on Sunday, Feb. 17. Hammond was last seen at approximately 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15.
Hammond is reported to be mentally unstable, and has threatened suicide in the past. Hammond is reported to be driving a 4-door 1993 Subaru Legacy sedan, teal green in color, bearing California license plate 3CKF797.
Hammond is described as: 5ft-2in tall, 135 pounds, medium build, fair colored skin, long straight brown hair and brown eyes. Hammond was last seen wearing blue jeans, a brown colored ski jacket with blue trim, and carrying a black fanny pack.
Hammond is known to frequent hiking areas in the foothills along the Sierra Nevada.
