Markleville man killed in collision near Hope Valley

A car crash on Highway 88 near Hope Valley Resort claimed the life of a 29-year-old Markleville man on Sunday afternoon.

A report released by the California Highway Patrol on Tuesday said that a 32-year old woman from Shingle Springs, CA was driving a 2010 Ford sedan westbound when, for unknown reasons, she crossed the center line into the path of a 1995 Subaru. In an effort to avoid a collision, the driver of the Subaru, a 31-year-old woman from Markleville, made an abrupt turn to the left towards the westbound traffic lane on Hwy 88.
