I-80 reopens, chain controls drop on Highway 50 as storm moves east

The eastbound lanes of I-80 from Colfax to the Nevada state line have reopened, with the estimated time of reopening for the westbound lanes at 3:30 p.m. Maximum chain controls are still in effect.
Highway 50 over Echo Summit is open with no chain controls. It is still slow going through South Lake Tahoe and to Meyers with all the backup from the I80 closure.
There are no longer any chain controls over Kingsbury Grade and Spooner Summit. The Mt. Rose Highway is still required chains or snowtires.
Maximum chain controls are in place on SR-88 except over the Carson Spur where the road remains closed.
