Who Will Be the Lake Tahoe Dancing Star?

Final rehearsals were underway Thursday evening in the MontBleu Showroom as professional dancers and their South Lake Tahoe "stars" prepared for Tahoe Art Project's Dancing with the Tahoe Stars.

We caught up with local Environmental Engineer Eric Taxer as he polished up his Argentine Tango with partner Dana Nott, a Whittell High Grad and current UNR student who grew up dancing at Forever Dance. Their dance will be to the music of Michael Jackson's Bad, and if this is any indication of what is in store Saturday's event, everyone is in for a treat.

Other local celebrities who will be dancing with their professional partners are former Mayor and current City Councilman Tom Davis (we saw his large prop under a tarp on stage), STHS Theater Director Liz Niven, Realtor Klaus Utecht, Director of Tahoe Center for Orthopedics Chris Proctor, Tahoe Tot Spot owner Amy Thompson, Soroptomist Roberta Benvenuto, Jazzercise Instructor Jodi Stewart, Sierra at Tahoe Director Sean Sweeney and Dental Hygienist Frances Caro.

Similar to the popular TV show, they will be paired up with one of the professionals to learn a dance routine and complete with costumes they will perform their dance and our distinguished judges will score them. Judges for the evening will be Marcia Sarosik, Don Bosson and Paul Middlebrook.

Tickets are $10 to $22 and available at the MontBleu box office. The show starts at 6:30 p.m.
