Kudos: Bread & Broth thanks Kirkwood Human Resources

“The Human Resources Team at Kirkwood Mountain Resort was humbled and inspired to serve food and connect with the local community tonight at Bread & Broth’s dinner,” wrote Greg Carlson on behalf of his HR team. “Great to see the smiles a warm meal brings to everyone."

Greg and his fellow sponsor members Natasha Buffo, Joshua Henry, Shea Gyurko and Yannah Preta came all of the way from Kirkwood to volunteer at Kirkwood Mountain Resort’s Adopt A Day of Nourishment on March 11th and help serve the evening’s dinner guests.

B&B’s Adopt A Day of Nourishment sponsorship is a wonderful way for community members to meet and spend time with dinner guests over a hot, nutritious meal. Sharing food and a concern for another’s well-being is both a gratifying and uplifting experience.

The Kirkwood sponsor crew was great. They brought their smiles and ‘I’m here to help’ attitudes and made the evening a great experience for both the dinner guests and the B&B volunteers.

The $300 sponsorship donation, funded by the Vail EpicPromise Grant, provided the funding to help cover the Monday Meal’s expenses for the outstanding full-course dinner of roast pork, mashed potatoes, applesauce, and Brussel sprouts (our excellent cooks even make Brussel sprouts taste good), and “giveaway” bags filled with food for meals later in the week.

Besides our Monday Meal, every Friday, B&B’s Second Serving provides soup and a simple entrée from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Normally served at the Lake Tahoe Presbyterian Church, Second Serving is currently being served at St. Theresa Grace Hall until the fire damage is repaired. Everyone in the community is invited to attend our two communal dinners.
