Significant wet pattern returns to Lake Tahoe at end of week

The Lake Tahoe forecast this week includes something for almost everyone: Snow, sun, and temps near 60.

Starting late Sunday night, a chance of rain and snow returns with a much higher chance for significant precipitation by Friday morning. The Sunday/Monday system is out quickly with highs into the 50s Tuesday-Thursday.

The forecast for South Lake Tahoe from the National Weather Service in Reno:

Sunday night - A slight chance of rain showers before 11pm, then a chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 32. North wind around 5 mph becoming southwest after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 30%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.

Monday - A slight chance of rain and snow showers before 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 45. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming northeast in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Monday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 24. North wind around 5 mph becoming east in the evening.

Tuesday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 54. East wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Tuesday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 28.

Wednesday - Partly sunny, with a high near 59.

Wednesday Night - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33.

Thursday - A slight chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 54.

Thursday Night- A chance of rain. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 31.

Friday - Rain and snow. Cloudy, with a high near 44. Breezy.

Friday Night- Rain and snow. Cloudy, with a low around 29. Breezy.
