Seven confirmed cases of COVID-19 in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County has created a new dashboard for COVID-19 cases and it shows South Lake Tahoe leads all areas with confirmed cases.

There are 7 confirmed cases in the South Lake Tahoe region, 3 in Placerville, 4 in El Dorado Hills with the County's other 5 cases spread around the west slope.

797 people have been tested with 648 of those coming back negative for the virus. 130 are still pending.

Of the confirmed 19 cases:

9 - travel-related
1 - contact with a known case
6 - community-acquired
3 - cause under investigation

10 - male
9 - female

There have been no deaths in El Dorado County from COVID-19.

The other area counties.

Carson City Health & Human Services (CCHHS) announced its first recovered case of COVID-19 in Carson City with one new positive case in the Quad County region: Carson City, Douglas, Lyon, and Storey counties. This brings the total number of cases in that region to 16 with one recovery.

There have been no deaths.

The new case is a male Carson City resident in his 80’s. He is self-isolating in his home and is in a stable condition. CCHHS is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the case will be released.

They have not announced what communities in each county have cases of COVID-19.

In Washoe County, there have been 184 cases of COVID-19 with 26 recoveries and four deaths. Their website is https://covid19washoe.com/. They have not announced which cities have confirmed cases of COVID-19.

In Placer County, there are 90 confirmed cases of COVID-19 with two deaths. The health department said confirmed cases have been identified in the following areas: Applegate, Auburn, Carnelian Bay, Foresthill, Granite Bay, Kings Beach, Lincoln, Loomis, Meadow Vista, Newcastle, Olympic Valley, Penryn, Rocklin, Roseville, Sheridan, Tahoe City, Truckee.

Neither of their two deaths was in the county area at Lake Tahoe.
