Event Date:
April 7, 2018 - 5:00pm

The Lake Tahoe Humane Society and SPCA is following up their March 29 meeting with an announcement that they are accepting applications for people interested in joining their board of directors. Two informational “meet and greets” for prospective board members are scheduled at the agency’s office at 884 Emerald Bay Road in South Lake Tahoe from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 7 and Monday, April 9 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The meetings will include an overview of the Humane Society’s mission, history, and board responsibilities. The agency is particularly interested in recruiting board members with experience in finance, human resources, real estate, law, fundraising, special event planning, and animal rights advocacy.

"The Lake Tahoe Humane Society has had a difficult year and is poised to create a future that continues to support the compassionate care of animals in our community," said Board President Lorna Leflet. "We are seeking committed and enthusiastic board members who can help us become stronger and more effective than ever. It’s all about the animals."

In addition to the informational meetings, prospective board members can request an application by emailing lthumanesocietyboard@gmail.com. Applications must be emailed by April 20.
