Lead Paint Renovator, Repair, Painter (RRP) Training Course Offered

South Lake Tahoe's Lead Safe Tahoe program has partnered with Lake Tahoe Community College to offer a Renovator, Repair, Painter (RRP) course in both English and Spanish, April 19-20.

The one-day class explains how to comply with the Environmental Protection Agency's RRP rule. Subjects covered include: health effects, regulations, lead safe work practices, containment, cleaning and record keeping.

After passing an end-of-class exam, students receive RRP initial training certificates.

The Lead Safe Worker 8-hour training for Renovators, Repair and Painters is being offered in Spanish at LTCC campus in English on Friday, April 19th and in Spanish on Saturday, April 20th from 8am-5pm. The cost to attend the training is $50 and up to two workers from each local company are welcome to participate.

Additional workshop fees are paid for by the City of South Lake Tahoe grant funding. Scholarships covering the entire cost of the course are available for full-time City residents who meet HUD low income requirements.
