LTCC students heading to renown ceramics conference

Students in the Art Club at Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) are gearing up for their annual participation in the California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Art (CCACA) conference in Davis from April 28-30. LTCC students are designing and installing a personalized exhibition that will be on display throughout the conference, joining 40 other regional schools with exhibitions installed at locations all around downtown Davis. In conjunction with the CCACA conference, LTCC Art Department instructors Colleen Sidey and Bryan Yerian are featured artists in an exhibition entitled “30 Ceramic Sculptors,” on display in the John Natsoulas Gallery now through May 13. The “30 Ceramic Sculptors” show has its opening reception Friday, April 28 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.

The CCACA conference allows those interested in ceramic arts to attend demonstrations, lectures and shows, and to interact with distinguished sculptors in the field. A number of ceramics shows take place around the conference. In addition to the “30 Ceramic Sculptors” show at the Natsoulas Gallery, local gallery exhibitions and more than 40 college shows will bring the best work of the year to a small area of downtown Davis that’s easy to navigate on foot. Shows will take place at the Davis Arts Center, the Pence Gallery, and many other locations.
