Yvonne McGrath - "Sound and Vision" show and fundraiser

Event Date:
August 8, 2020 - 10:00am

Please join Make Tahoe Records at Scott Forrest Fine Art Studio for The Art and Music of Yvonne McGrath in the premiere of “Sound and Vision”, a series of introductions to the work of visual artists and the reciprocal connections of music and their art. In the spirit of reciprocity, a portion of the proceeds from sales of Yvonne McGrath’s work and vinyl from the Make Tahoe Records pop-up exhibit will be donated to the Tahoe Art League as part of the “Saturday Show of Support” series.

The fundraiser will be held on Saturday August 8, 15 and 22 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. McGrath's show is at the gallery through August 31. It can be viewed by appointment on dates other than Saturdays. Call (310) 213-3333 to set a time.

Yvonne McGrath creates original paintings of “Fantasy Flowers” that come to life through their dance with the viewer. Like the artist herself, they are bold and timeless yet affirm the importance of nurturing one’s life in the moment. McGrath describes the creative process as "an emotional response” to the flower as it emerges. As a singer, McGrath’s performance on her album, Yvonne, In Private, echoes these enduring qualities through perennial favorites and originals, including songs arranged by her husband, Jim McGrath, reverberating a deep-rooted nature of reciprocity.

Yvonne McGrath is a prominent and much sought-after South Shore exhibiting artist. Her work has been shown in as many as seven galleries concurrently, including Scott Forrest Fine Art Studio, Benko Art Gallery, City Art Gallery at South Lake Tahoe City Hall, Tahoe Art League Gallery, Roberta Mason Library at Lake Tahoe Community College, South Lake Tahoe El Dorado County Library, and LTCC Student Center Gallery.

Yvonne McGrath is a member of the Tahoe Art League. The Tahoe Art League has been supporting local artists and the community at large since 1964. Nationally known for its annual Artist Studio Tour, TAL also provides scholarships for students, workshops and demonstrations for its members and the public, exhibit opportunities in a co-op style gallery, and a place for community events. The 14th Annual Artist Studio Tour has been postponed. Art sales from the tour help provide the scholarships for students. Now is the perfect opportunity to give back to this community benefit organization by making a tax-deductible donation. The Tahoe Art League Gallery is located at 3062 Lake Tahoe Blvd, South Lake Tahoe, CA.
